This Permafelt derby was exactly what I was looking for to complete a Charlie Chaplin costume. If you're wondering what Permafelt is as I was, it is a hard molded fabric with the texture of felt. The construction of this hat is very sturdy. Although hard to tell from the product photo, it does have a high profile which is what I was looking for to duplicate Charlie Chaplin's look. The hat is "one size fits most", but it sits rather high on a 22" inch head. So, if you want your bowler to sit low on your head this is not the hat for that unless you have a small head or you are purchasing it for a child. Overall, this is an excellent costume bowler at a great price.

The hat is great and exactly what I had expected... nothing too nice but adequate for a costume situation. What I did not like was the hat arriving extremely dented. Majority of the top portion of the derby cap was caved in. While I was able to pop the hat into shape it left some really weird lines in the material.
pros: great hat for what you pay
cons: obvious packing/shipping issues-damaged merchandise

Great prop! It's like being back in time with either Charlie Chaplin movies of Some Where In Time. Just make sure you order the right size.
