I purchased this for my son's school project. He had to make a speech regarding Abe Lincoln. One thing I did to make the hat stand up is to stuff it with some grocery plastic bags. The beard stayed intact and didn't have to add glue or rubber bands to keep it in place. I noticed thought that it tends to shed. For one time use, it did the job.

The hat is made of felt and flops over, no way to keep it straight like in the picture, if that is important, look else where.

I attended our NEA Convention here in the state of Illinois. I purchased this item to go with the theme of Land of Lincoln. We all wore the hats on the delegation floor. We all looked pretty sharp, got a lot of attention from other states. People were wondering and asking where did we purchase the hats? I informed about Amazon. We wore the hats on the fourth of July on the floor. We were a big hit.

Bought this for my 17 year old son to use at a Halloween party. The hat fit well and didn't any support to keep it's shape but the beard was quite "skraggly" and fit well below his chin. We had to buy fake eyelash adhesive to try to keep it attached to his chin. The effect was OK but was messy. Overall, the product was pretty much as expected.
