5Essential for Any Thor CostumeOct 25, 2010
By dfassna1
I decided to go for the more expensive replica when ordering a Mjolnir to match my Thor costume and I have been ecstatic about the decision. The hammer has some nice heft to it and it feels solid. The pleather grip looks great and the head of the hammer is awesome. Don't expect the hammer to be rock-hard at the head because it has a little give to it, it's shinier than I would have liked, the writing is a little hard to read, and the head isn't as wide as I would have liked, but all of these are very minor complaints because at the end of the day it still looks great and it's the best of its kind you can buy without paying hundreds of dollars.

2Not so mighty.Apr 27, 2011

I bought this hammer with reservation based on the other reviews. The head of this hammer is shaped all wrong. The side with the writing is square, when it should be more rectangular. This also distorts the size and shape of the end of the hammer. The finish on this item is chrome, nothing like the image. All in all it looks kind of cheap to me.

1Cheap look and feelSep 28, 2011

I also purchased this product based on other reviews. I paid $55, but it feels more like a $10 product. It looks and feels cheap and is quite flimsy. For that price I expected something more solid. It is hollow plastic like something you would find in the toy section of a Walmart. Sorely disappointed. Do not pay over $15 for this.

5SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIE TOYSMar 13, 2011

I was kind of worried about this based on one review that claimed it was a little on the small side, but I ordered it anyways. No size issue at all. The hammer's head is about 10.5" wide and has some pretty good wieght behind it. As a tall guy this looks the right size for a costume. Right now I have it on a shelf with the museum replica helmet, and it looks like it belongs next to it. I did take some wax and buff down the shine. It has a almost mirrored high gloss shine to it. Otherwise awesome display or costume piece.

I bought this Hammer for over 70 bucks and I bought the Movie version from the same company for 20 bucks. The Movie version was surprisingly disappointing but what that lack this one improved, it's a much more sturdier product. The handle is really hard wood (You could use the handle itself as a real weapon) covered in Vinyl Pleather (It feels like the real thing). Though the head is plastic with a shinny silvery color (Planning to paint it a cement grey) it's proven itself stronger and flexible then it looks. My brother kept hitting a punching bag with it (actually rocking it back and forth) and it's a little loose now but all-and-all perfect. I'm gonna use Hot-Glue Gun to fix that looseness.
